About this event
After providing some background through discussion of the causes and impact of the “The Danish Time” on Norwegian society and culture we will look at two important writers who influenced change in Norwegian society as well as the conservatives who opposed the changes. The two authors are Herick Wergeland and Camilla Collett. Because efforts of Collett largely center around women’s emancipation, the play “The Doll's House” by Ibsen will be looked at for better understanding of domestic life at the time.
